So, my family recently found out that there is a small percentage of Irish Heritage in our blood! All this time we thought that we weren't Irish, and after researching my family history, I found out that my Great-Great-Great-Grandfather married a woman with the last name Carroll.
So tonight, we went over to my aunt and uncles house for a traditional Irish meal: Corned Beef, Cabbage, Potatoes, Carrots, and Irish Soda Bread. It was a very good meal. My cousin, her husband, and their two kids were there, and it was great to see them. I hadn't seen them since Thanksgiving because we weren't in RI for Christmas this year. They left pretty early because their children, Ben and Ryan, are so young, and needed to go to bed. We stayed for a bit longer and watched part of American Idol with my aunt, uncle, and younger cousin, and then left because Dylan had some homework to do.
It was great to be able to visit with them. I'm looking forward to the boys' birthday parties in a few weeks.
